Well, I know this is a pretty bad way to start a review, I'm truly sorry because this might lead you to stop reading, but... This little movie's main character is Molly Ringwald. Are you still with me? Fine then.
What's "Requiem For Murder" about? Quite simple. Ringwald plays Anne Wilson, a DJ for a radio station that plays classical music. The thing is, she starts getting roses by a secret admirer, but she never knows who he is. In the mean time, people are getting killed, and once she finds out she only gets roses the same days as those people are murdered, she gets scared.
Then we have the arrival of Lou Heinz (Christopher Heyerdahl), a police officer (detective or something) who has to protect her, and at the same time try to solve the case. Everyone who works at the station is a suspect, and specially the ones that had a crush on Anne in the past.
The movie stunk. There are some things you should not do in this type of films, and one of them is introducing a new character in the last minute of the film, and make him the villian. That's just very dumb, and makes you wonder why you watched the film in the first time. A new character? Come on! The good formula for this kind of flicks, is introducing plenty characters, giving them all a reason to be suspects, and finally catch one of them. But in here, the killer was an unknown person, someone you probably don't even remember seeing in the entire film.
Molly Ringwald had her days, I never saw her as a beautiful girl, but I must admit I liked her in some 80's films, like "The Breakfast Club". Still, her days are over, she's a complete has-been now, making crap films like this, straight to video. When was the last time you saw a good Ringwald film? I didn't think you'd remember. Needless to say, don't bother with this film, a complete waste of time.
