Once again Bruce Willis decided to start with a kid in a movie, now in a much less serious film than the 1999 thriller "The Sixth Sense". But the fact that the film isn't too serious doesn't mean it's for kids, I'll tell you why soon.
Willis plays Russ Duritz, an Image Consultant who has all the material stuff a man could possibly need, but he has no social life, no memories from the past, no girlfriend or wife and he's nearly 40 years old. One day he discovers an intruder inside his house, a boy who's about to turn 8 years old. Russ realizes this chubby kid is actually him at that age, but he refuses to believe the kid is actually real so he even goes to a doctor claiming to be hallucinating.
But after a while he realizes the kid is not a hallucination, he's very real, but he doesn't have a clue of how he got there and what should he do. The memories the kid is bringing him aren't very pleasant, Russ was a loser during his school years and all those memories he had forgotten are now coming back, so for a while he thinks he's supossed to help the kid so whenever he goes back to his world he'd be prepared, but he'd be very surprised when he finds out what the kid is really there for.
Seeing this is a Disney movie my expectations were pretty low, but it didn't turn out to be a childlish movie, as a matter of fact I believe this film is for adults. The film might make an adult think about what he wanted to do when he was a kid and if that's really what he's doing now, it could also remind you not to focus on your work too much and put your social life aside, Willis' character would have ended up alone if he hadn't found himself at age 8. It's a nice film for people of all ages, but I believe kids won't get the main message of the film.
