Two words that describes this entire movie; Creepy and surprising. Jeepers Creepers is something out of your ordinary horror movie, for better or for worse. It has most of the standard, teenage horror marks but has added an extremely unexpected ending and has managed to create some sort of creepy feeling throughout the movie.
Whether or not you're going to like this movie is difficult to tell at front hand. If you like the type of horror movies that gives you all the details underway and have a final battle between the good and evil towards the end, you will be dissapointed. If you, on the other hand like a movie out of the ordinary, where you need to draw your own conclusions and hate how horror endings are ruined by stupid explanations or special effects, you might appriciate this movie. The whole impression of the movie will depend upon your reaction towards the ending, which is quite sudden and kind of a shock actually.
The movies thrill feeling starts quickly and don't let go until the end. It's not a movie with a lot of teenagers, chased and slashed by a (u)natural killer or monster, screaming and running up'n down stairs all the time. In fact there is only two main characters, Trish and Darry, who are brother and sister. Therefore, the movie avoid one other horror trap, stupid and unnecessary sex/romance scenes! Both actors perform above average compared to your usual horror film cast, and especially Trish played by Gina Philips is quite impressive (and good-looking). Darry (Justin Long) have a few facial reactions that I didn't think was very convincing, but the rest of his performance was ok.
Nothing else about the movie is worth mentioning. Sound, special effects, dialogues and everything else was quite ordinary, not particulary good or bad. The ending is the main issue and I felt that it was to sudden to qualify as a good and original ending. We were left with to many unanswered questions and no "real" ending. Perhaps we will learn the answers to our questions in the sequal that is eta: 2002. All in all this is a creepy and in times scary movie that in my opinion is worth your time, and perhaps even your money. Note: If you like the ending of this movie, but would like to see a much scarier movie, try to attain the danish horror movie; "Sidste Time", which is in my opinion the scariest movie ever made.
