Beginning as two young children in a Shaolin temple, these friends were always goofing around and sparing each other, which often led them in punishment for not doing their daily chores. Eventually they grow up into young masters and have to leave the temple into the real world.
Kung Fu movies have never been known for their plot and storyline, but simply for their martial artistry and amazing choreography. Twin Warriors is just that. It is dubbed into English (martial art movies are usually dubbed as it is difficult for the viewer to read subtitles and enjoy the action at the same time) and I must confess that the dubbing isn't the best; the most noticable part is at the beginning, when a Shaolin priest speaks, and you expect to hear a rather low-medium toned voice, and you get something like a 9-year-old speaking. The good news is that all the main characters have good dubbing.
The martial arts are great, but expect to see a lot of super-hero calibre fighting; no they cannot fly, but they can do some amazing stuff.
This is the first movie I've seen with Jet Li that actually has comedy in it, which is a great addition with any Kung-Fu movie. It's hard to take a kung-fu movie seriously with it's bad writing, which is why comedy makes up for that.
Overall Twin Warriors is a good kung-fu movie, you will see a lot of fighting in this film that you won't see anywhere else, and I will end by saying that I LOVE the theme music, it fits the movie perfectly. Definitely a good movie to add to your collection.
